PerfectCharge MCA charger - The optimum charging technology for starter and supply batteries

Starter and supply batteries have different requirements. Starter batteries initially require a high current to start the engine. They then serve as an energy buffer with small partial cycles. Supply batteries, on the other hand, are discharged and recharged over longer periods of time using smaller currents. They are therefore subject to a higher load. To ensure that these batteries last a long time and prevent damage, they require special charging technology. This is exactly where the PerfectCharge MCA charger comes into play.

The PerfectCharge MCA charger works with a unique six-stage charging cycle. This ensures optimum charging conditions for all gel, fleece and wet batteries. It can charge quickly and gently to extend the service life of the batteries.

Suitable for all battery types

Thanks to the IUoU charging technology, the PerfectCharge MCA charger is suitable for various battery types. You can set the required charging voltage via DIP switches, which is particularly important when charging lithium batteries with a BMS (battery management system). With the PerfectCharge MCA charger, you can also optimally charge lithium batteries.

The six-stage charging cycle

The PerfectCharge MCA charger works with a special six-stage IUoU charging characteristic. The individual phases are explained here:

I phase

In the I phase, the empty battery is charged with a constant current (100 % charging current) until the battery voltage reaches the charging voltage.

Uo phase

The 3-stage absorption charging phase begins in the Uo phase. The voltage remains constant (Uo). The battery charge is determined in the first 2 minutes. Then the main charging phase begins, in which the battery is fully charged. As soon as the battery is fully charged or the charging current is below 6 % of the nominal charging current for 15 minutes, the Uo phase ends.

U phase

In the U phase, the charger switches to trickle charging. It automatically switches back to phase 1 every 12 days to revitalize the battery and prevent sulphation.
