PerfectCharge MCA charger - Optimum charging technology for different batteries

Starter and supply batteries have different tasks and therefore place specific demands on the charging technology. Starter batteries are used to start the engine, which requires a high current. They then act as buffer batteries with small partial cycles. Supply or on-board batteries, on the other hand, are discharged and recharged over longer periods of time using smaller currents. This leads to a greater load on the batteries. Special charging technology is therefore required to prevent damage and ensure a long service life.

The IUoU battery chargers are equipped with a unique six-stage charging cycle to ensure optimum charging conditions for gel, fleece and wet batteries. They charge the batteries quickly and gently.

Charge lithium batteries optimally

With the MCA chargers, you can set the required charging voltage for lithium batteries with BMS (battery management system) via DIP switches. This ensures that lithium batteries are optimally charged.

6-stage IUoU charging characteristic for optimum battery performance

I phase: At the start of the charging process, the empty battery is charged with a constant current (100 % charging current) until the battery voltage reaches the charging voltage.

Uo phase: In this 3-stage absorption charging phase, the voltage remains constant (Uo). The duration of the Uo phase depends on the battery. In the first 2 minutes, the charge of the battery is determined. The main charging phase then begins, in which the battery is fully charged. As soon as the battery is fully charged or the charging current is below 6 % of the nominal charging current for 15 minutes, the Uo phase ends.

U phase: In this phase, the charger switches to trickle charging. Every 12 days, the charger returns to phase 1 to revitalize the battery and prevent sulphation.
